Worry

When two ducks in a pond cross each other and begin to fight, they literally ruffle each other’s feathers, have their tussle and then go their separate ways.

Watching them, they may spend a while smoothing their feathers back into place, preening, flapping a little, but what they do not do is gossip to their fellows about the other duck behind his back.

They don’t fret and worry, they don’t hold a grudge – their tussle is over and forgotten, like water off a duck’s back.

Worry does not help. It is meaningless and if you live in the present moment, there is nothing to worry about, as there is no future, no past, no other time than this, so worry cannot exist.

Considering things, thinking things through – these have their uses but they are different from worry. Can you think of one time when worrying about something actually helped the situation?

Let it go.

It is not difficult to let it go if we live for the now and keep the present moment at the forefront of our minds always.

It may seem difficult to live in the now, but we are living in the now whether we are thinking we are or now, we just need to realise it.
