Crisis

Remember the balance. Where there is black, there is white. Where there is bad there is good. Opposites can only exist together and we should let that be a source of comfort in times of trouble and worry.

There has never been a more poignant moment in humankind’s recent history for us to be truly able to focus solely upon the now.

What has passed cannot be changed, just as we have no control of what the future may bring – but we do have control over this very moment and how we respond and react right now.

If we are home-bound, we can look upon this as a blessed opportunity.

Perhaps we feel trapped and the people with us we find annoying and hard to live with. Remember the balance. Think of ten reasons to like this person, and if we genuinely make the effort to try this, then we change our state of mind in the process and the good overwhelms the bad. We can once more enjoy seeing the good in them and thus also in ourselves.

Take time to make the most of a break from routine. Make a point every day of silently sitting for a set period in the garden or some green space and admire the beauty around us. Learn the songs of the birds. Re-learn the grace of nature.

Do not allow fear and suspicion to cloud our minds, instead focus on helping others, even if all we can do is offer a kind word.

Find peace in the chaos and be thankful.
