Human beings are very good at analysing and labelling, at categorising and filing things into manageable boxes.
But what can we really know for certain?
We know without a doubt that the sun rises and sets every day, without exception. We know now that we don’t have to perform sacrifices or rituals for this to happen, that is just a fact of our existence.

Yet even this documented and accepted fact is relative.
If we were to travel into space, we would see that this truth is false. There is no rising or setting of the sun in space, the sun shines continuously and will do so whether we are there to witness it and document it, or not. There is no 24 hour clock in space, no days, months or years – there is just space and things moving around in that space.
From our lives on Earth, our perspective of the universe is limited and we are all fully aware of this, yet continue to persist thinking of the universe from this small, human vantage.
It is easy to go through our lives, living by these imposed thoughts and rules, and never think about or question them, but our minds are capable of going beyond them, of making a connection between ourselves and the infinite, if we only make the effort.
If we believe in evolution then we can also accept our portion of responsibility and not make ourselves the centre of the universe.
The first step has to come from us.
